HUNTERSVILLE, N.C. -- Thieves are going great lengths to get their hands on your hard earned money.
“At a day care I mean, you’re going to prey on moms? It’s terrible,” one mother sighed.
Police have taken to social media to warn parents about several recent incidents of vehicle break-ins at day cares in Huntersville.
According to a police report, one mother had her purse stolen from a day care on Kincey Avenue in Huntersville: credit cards, gift cards, car keys all gone, totaling nearly $500.
There are reports of criminals smashing car windows, others sneaking into unlocked cars to get their hands on precious valuables. Police said there are several reports of car break-ins at daycares since the new year.
“We got warned at the Y and at the daycare,” one mother said.
“We are pretty strict with locking everything and double locking and taking every precaution,” another added.
