HICKORY, N.C. -- A park in Catawba County will reopen Saturday following months of storm cleanup.

The Carolinas were hit hard by severe weather in October. The Hickory Regional Airport suffered significant damage from an apparent tornado.

Workers have been collecting and remove debris from the parks in Hickory ever since. Most of the city's paved bikeway connecting Hickory City Park and Rotary-Geitner Park has been cleared.

Rotary-Geitner Park will reopen Saturday, but some areas will remain closed, along with the boardwalk, memorial garden, and disc golf course at Hilton Park.
