(WPXI) -- Three transgender Pennsylvania high school students are suing the Pine-Richland school district over new restroom rules.

Last month the school board instituted new rules requiring students to use restrooms corresponding to their "biological sex". Previously they'd been allowed to uses restrooms based on their gender identity.

Several unisex restrooms are also available.

"These past three weeks have felt like three years because we've felt so trapped and so discriminated against," says Pine-Richland senior Juliet Evancho.
