CONCORD, N.C. -- A school lockdown was lifted late Tuesday morning following a search for a suspect in Cabarrus County. The Concord Police department sent out an alert just before 10:30 a.m.

Investigators said, as a precaution, Carl Furr Elementary School was secured. Concord Police were assisting the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department in the area of Clover Road.

Just after 11:00 a.m., Concord Police said the suspect was no longer believed to be in the area. The lockdown at Carl Furr Elementary School was then lifted.
