LANCASTER, S.C. -- Two students were accused of discussing a threat at Lancaster High School last week.
On Friday, school resource officers were informed the pair was overheard talking about “shooting up the school”.
Investigators said one of the students, a 15-year-old, was interviewed and taken to Springs Memorial Hospital for evaluation. The teen was later charged via juvenile petition with disturbing schools and taken to a department of juvenile justice facility in Columbia.
On Monday, authorities said 17-year-old Launte Ahmadre Holmes was also charged with disturbing schools. Holmes was booked, processed and released on bond.
Police and school officials do not believe there is a continued threat to Lancaster High School students. The incident remains under investigation.
