CHARLOTTE, N.C. – A section of Ballantyne Commons Parkway was closed after an alleged drunk driver crashed into a utility pole early Monday morning.
According to Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police, officers responded to a crash on Ballantyne Commons Parkway near Quail Acres Road a little before 3 a.m. Duke Energy was called to the scene in order to repair power lines that were knocked down during the crash.
CMPD said the driver was arrested and charged with DWI. Police have not identified the suspect at this time.
Crews on the scene were able to reopen the road a little before 6 a.m.
