MECKLENBURG COUNTY, N.C. -- NCDOT says both directions of I-77 near mile marker 30 in Davidson have reopened after being closed for over an hour.

Transportation officials said Sunday afternoon's severe weather knocked down multiple power lines on I-77. The roads reopened after crews removed the downed power lines from the roadway.

Duke Energy said Sunday afternoon's severe weather has affected about 12,000 customers in Mecklenburg County.
