HUNTERSVILLE, N.C. -- No one was injured after a school bus driver crashed into a ditch in Huntersville Friday morning.
According to Huntersville Police, the driver swerved to miss a deer in the 16000 block of Poplar Tent Church Road around 5:30 a.m. No students were on the bus at the time of the accident, officials said.
The driver, who has not been identified, was not hurt during the crash, police said. Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools said the bus serves Barnette Elementary School. A replacement bus has been dispatched to get students to school.
