CHARLOTTE, N.C. -- A cell phone video capturing a horrifying crash made rounds on social media.
The video showed a car, driving on the wrong side of the highway was weaving all over the road, before a violent crash.
Jeremy Prevette, the man who took the video of the crash, can be heard saying, "This guy is going to kill somebody."
Prevette stayed a safe distance behind the destruction, but left his camera rolling. Midway through the video he is heard saying "He's done...he's done."
The joy ride came to an end at the intersection of Highway 601 and 200.
Anette Cantley lives off Highway 601, less than 50 yards from where the car went airborne.
"My children drive on the road on a daily basis," Cantley said. "It really hit close to home."
Cantley is certainly counting her blessings after watching that disturbing cell phone video.
"Four minutes before he came through this area we left so he could take me to work," she said. "We just left a few minutes early because I had to pay a bill before work or I would have possibly been right there when he came through."
NBC Charlotte reached out to Highway Patrol to find out if that driver was injured in the crash, and whether he is facing charges. Stick with WCNC.com, as we will provide updates to this story as soon as we get the information.
