CHARLOTTE, N.C. – With playoff seeding on the line, South Meck stepped to the plate and delivered Friday, defeating Ardrey Kell 28-6 to take third in the South Meck 8 conference.

DeAngelo Blair-Young and Travis Prince teamed up to run over the Knights’ defense, with Blair-Young finding pay dirt four times in the game.

Rocky White’s team raced out to a quick 21-0 lead with three Blair-Young scores on their first three drives. Prince joined in, rumbling for 67 yards on 13 carries against the AK defense.

Ardrey Kell quarterback Luke Hefferly connected with Cade McDonald to get the Knights’ only points on the night with a 7-yard touchdown pass in the second quarter.

Both teams will advance to the NCHSAA playoffs in two weeks.
