CHARLOTTE, N.C. – Carolina Panthers signed unrestricted free agent tackle Matt Khalil to a five-year contract, the team announced Friday.

A source told USA TODAY's Tom Pelissero that the Panthers will sign Kalil to a five-year, $55.5 million deal with $25 million guaranteed.

Kalil is the younger brother of Panthers center Ryan Kalil, who has played his entire professional career with the Panthers since being drafted in 2007. The Panthers sent a lighthearted tweet regarding the reunion.
