Now that the Carolina Panthers have acquired veteran pro bowl safety Mike Adams, at least one other team is interested in making a trade for former starter Tre Boston.
According to Black and Blue Review, there is at least one team that has inquired about trading for Boston. I suspect that team may be the Buffalo Bills.
These two players were not key cogs in the Carolina Panthers offense, but rather role players that saw limited playing time on the field. Neither had significant production for the Panthers in 2016. Still, apparently, they serve a greater purpose to Sean McDermott as he tries to establish himself as the Buffalo Bills head coach.

Now, there appear to be whispers of an unnamed team wanting to trade for Tre Boston. I would bet at least one dollar that it is again Sean McDermott wanting now a defensive player from his system in Buffalo. Boston has played both safety positions in McDermott’s defense and would be a huge asset for him as the team learns the requirements of the new scheme.
But what would the Carolina Panthers demand in trade for Boston? Although he failed to perform at a high level, Boston still adds value as a solid backup when needed. For that type of player, I would assume at least a 4th round draft pick would be needed to pry him away. After all, it is no guarantee that a 4th round player ever develops into a backup player in the NFL.
Stay tuned as this situation develops this week.
