CHARLOTTE, N.C. - The Panthers signed three of their seven draft picks on the eve of rookie minicamp, most notably first-round pick Christian McCaffrey.

He was joined by offensive tackle Taylor Moton, and fullback Alex Armah.

The team also signed five undrafted rookies including linebacker Ben Boulware, wide receiver Fred Ross, defensive end Bryan Cox, wide receiver Austin Duke and cornerback Cole Luke.

Boulware and Duke each have local ties. Boulware was the heart and soul of the national champion Clemson Tigers, while Duke played in Charlotte for the 49ers.

All drafted rookies sign four-year contracts, while undrafted free agents sign three-year deals.

Cam Newton was the first number one overall pick to sign after the new rookie wage scale was announced. Since the days of monster contracts for first-rounders are over, teams are signing their rookies without much resistance.

The rookies who signed, along with the team's four other draft picks will join select veterans Friday for the first of the team's two day rookie minicamp.
