Charlotte FC holds out to draw against Columbus

It's not a road win, but the black and blue pick up a point in MLS play.

COLUMBUS, Ohio — Charlotte FC held out against Columbus Crew Saturday night, ending the road match on a 1-1 draw.

Erik Hurtado with Columbus kicked in the first score of the night 41 minutes in, but it would be answered eight minutes later by Andre Shinyashiki for the black and blue. Neither team was able to find the net after Shinyashiki's kick.

Saturday marked the first time both teams met on the pitch, and it was another notch for Charlotte FC's record of not finding road victories; the team has either lost or taken to draw each time it's been outside of Bank of America Stadium. However, the team's inaugural season has seen plenty of wins at home.

The draw on the road comes a week after the black and blue shut out the New York Red Bulls 2-0.
