CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Interstate 85 has reopened in northeast Charlotte after police activity closed the roadway at the beginning of Wednesday evening's rush hour commute.
At the height of the investigation, lanes in both directions were closed. Southbound delays had stretched back to the I-485 loop near Concord Mills. Northbound delays went back to the I-77 interchange near uptown Charlotte.
The police activity was near West W.T. Harris Blvd.
