RALEIGH, N.C. -- The 2017 Atlantic hurricane season will be 'normal' along the East Coast this year, researchers at North Carolina State University said Tuesday.
Researchers predict between 11-15 tropical storms in the Atlantic basic. Of those, four to six may grow strong enough to become hurricanes, with as many as three becoming major hurricanes.
The average for named storms is 11.
The Atlantic hurricane season runs from June 1 through November 30.
