CHARLOTTE, N.C. -- A Code Orange Ozone Forecast advisory has been issued by the North Carolina Department of Environmental Quality.
The advisory is in effect Tuesday across the Charlotte-area from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m.
So what does an Orange Ozone Forecast mean?
An air quality action day means that Ground Level Ozone concentrations within the region may approach or exceed unhealthy standards.
People who are active and anyone with respiratory difficulties should limit prolonged outdoor exertion. Specifically, these groups are encouraged to keep an eye out for nose, eye, throat and lung irritation.
Keep in mind, the high ozone levels can worsen existing conditions or make someone more susceptible to illness.
