While Spain hosts the running of the bulls, this Cinco de Mayo, Vida and EPICENTRE present their own pint-size version of the Pamplona tradition on Saturday, May 4. It’s the second annual Running of the Chihuahuas.
The Running of the Chihuahuas is Charlotte’s Beyond the Usual Cinco de Mayo tradition, and it’s free. This is the benefiting charity is the Charlotte Humane Society.
Registration starts at 3 p.m. in the EPICENTRE courtyard, and the races start at 4 p.m. The winning Chihuahua brings home the grand prize of a sunny Mexican vacation to their owner. There are also other prizes for second and third place winners.
