Many times when there is a charity event, it’s not family friendly, so the kids have to stay at home.
Well there is the perfect event coming up that is great fun for the entire family.
Daniel Stowe Botanical Gardens Bug Ball will be Friday, September 27th, from 5:30 to 9 p.m. But tickets are only available until Friday September 20th, 2013.
This annual fundraiser is family-friendly and participants are encouraged to come dressed as their favorite bug. From children wearing wings, to adults in bug-eyed glasses, all attendees will be have the opportunity to participate in insect-inspired activity stations, games and entertainment such as: Wacky Wings, where children can create and decorate their own butterfly; Wiggle Worms, which teaches how to make a worm bin; Build-a-Bug, where participants assemble giant insect parts into a bigger bug; and Insect-O-Rama, a bug-themed wheel of fortune. In addition, the Charlotte Youth Ballet will perform throughout the night while being dressed as butterflies.
Special food and drinks are included with ticket purchase; and a unique silent auction will add to the festivities for the night.
The Garden Store will have special bug merchandise available to help guests find just the right accessory (e.g. wings, bug-eyes, antennas, etc.) for the event.
Proceeds from the Bug Ball benefit the Gardens school programs.
