CHARLOTTE, N.C. -- The world renowned Irish ensemble Celtic Thunder visited the NBC Charlotte studios Monday for a performance on 'Charlotte Today.'
It was the first time the entire group of six performed on the show. In the past, the group was represented by only two members.
“We’re happy we’ve got the full compliment today,” said Ryan Kelly.
Their mix of Irish and Celtic music is their signature and the group treated viewers and studio guests with two performances. They started with a cover of the U2 hit “I Still Haven’t Found What I’m Looking For” and finished off the show with the Irish classic “Galway Girl.”
Celtic Thunder is in Charlotte as part of a 65-city tour of North America. Their stop in Charlotte had them visiting the Belk Theater Monday at 7:30 p.m.
“We love being in Charlotte. Sadly, we don’t have a day off to really enjoy Charlotte, but we plan to rock out the show tonight,” said Keith Harkin.
“We’ve got the best fans that have been loyal to us. It’s why we love doing the show and performing for them,” added Kelly.
