Saturday, November 9
US Airways Salute to Veterans Day Parade 
11:00am
Tryon Street – between 9th and Stonewall Streets

Each year, the Carolinas Freedom Foundation sponsors the annual “Salute to Veterans” Parade to coincide with Veterans Day and the Carolinas Freedom Foundations’ Freedom Breakfast. The event showcases local middle and high school bands, the Junior Reserve Officer Training Corps (JROTC) program units, active military units, antique cars and veteran organizations.
In 2012, more than 2,000 participants gathered to honor those who have served in the United States Armed Forces.


November 23 –
South End Tree Lighting
5:30pm – 7:00pm
Atherton Mill

The tree will be lit around 6pm. This is the official kickoff to the South End season of giving, and we are looking forward to bringing it in with style. Food trucks, tunes, presents and a few other surprises are on tap, so put it on your calendar and plan to hear much more in the coming weeks.

Celebration of small businesses and “Shop Small” across the city with a focus on South End – a project of the Small Business Administration. Deals available at small businesses to jump start your holiday shopping.
