CHARLOTTE, N.C. - The faces of the victims of the Sandy Hook Elementary School shooting in Newtown, Connecticut have left everyone’s hearts aching for lives gone too soon and for the families suffering from this loss.  We are going to continuously ask the question “why?”  and never really know the definitive answer, but we will always be certain how this story shakes so many people to the core.

Pastor Chris Payne of New Charlotte Church joins us today to talk about how these tragic events not only make us question humanity, but our faith in God as well.

Chris believes that everyone at some point in their lives asks themselves if there is a god and can he be trusted.  “I think that when tragedies like this happen on a national level or individually, it causes us to re-ask these questions ‘where is god’ and ‘is he a god that can be trusted.’”

He also feels that it is so easy to be overcome with depression and look at the world as an evil place, so try to make an oath that you will be proactive in your life to do good wherever you are.
