CHARLOTTE, NC - We have the American singing group known as The Lennon Sisters on our set today to talk about the highlights of their extensive careers as a group act.

The quartet debuted on ‘The Lawrence Welk Show’ on Christmas Eve of 1955. They were a mainstay on the show until they left to start a career of their own in 1968.

Broaching on a five-decade career, they eventually found a steady home again in Branson, Missouri, where they continue to charm loyal, nostalgic, highly enthusiastic crowds.

When we asked the sisters how they feel about child stardom today, Janet replied “when we first started, our parents were very concerned that we remain the happy children that we were; and so, we never had to go to Hollywood or to a professional school.”

They are in town as representatives of the Andy Williams Moon River Theatre, who has sponsored the American Bus Association Marketplace being held at the Charlotte Convention Center.  If you are interested in catching up with them, then you might want to check out their 50th Anniversary show being held February 18th, 2013 at The Lakeland Center Youkey Theatre in Florida.
