~Tips on what to have in your make up bag in your 30's, 40's, 50's & 60's~

One thing I love the most about what I do is the fact I get to work with women of all ages. I never pursued a celebrity-obsessed make up career because I truly wanted to work with everyday women... Of all ages! I've gained a lot of experience with what products work best and what are the must-haves in your 30's, 40's, 50's and 60's. Lets start with the 30's

Make Up Bag Must-Haves in your 30's:

First of all, a must-have is edgier eye make up. You're 30, you're not old by any stretch! As long as its done right, rocking a smokey eye is a definite must! Adding a sultry smokey tone around ANY eye color brings lots of attention to the eye (not the eye make up). It also can create a more openness and lift to the eye. It's super hot partnered with a youthful nude lip. Next must-have... eyeshadow primer! This is really for any age but especially in your 30's. Many women in their 30's experience issues with oily eyelids which causes your eye make up to crease. A primer will keep it crease-free and will give you the truest color to your eye make as well as give you all day wear! My final must-have is a great hydrating lipgloss! All lip glosses are not created equal. Make sure it's packed with Vitamin E so it's good for your lips.

Make Up Bag Must-Haves in your 40's:

First must-have in your 40's... Tinted brow gel! During your 40's a couple of things happen to your brows. Annoying white/gray hairs start to randomly show up and the brow area starts to droop a bit. Brow gel is a major game-changer if you're 40+! Not only does it cover the gray, it lifts the brow and in return gives the face an overall lift! Next on the must-have list is a contour powder. As we "mature", gravity starts to take a bit of a toll. With that come loss of facial contour. By strategically adding shadow (contour) where you need it, it literally lifts and sculpts the face. Talk about a game-changer. Final 40's barely there foundation or tinted moisturizer. The trick here is to look as if you're not wearing any foundation. A great rule to remember is that it should even your skin, not cover it!

Make Up Bag Must-Haves in your 50's

The key word as one reaches their 50's is HYDRATION!!! With that said, the first must-have in your 50's is a moisturizing foundation. The skin naturally loses moisture as we age. When you reach a certain age, you need a foundation that will extend the moisture in the skin. The more hydrated the skin looks the younger the skin looks! Also, a hydrating foundation will make the skin look more radiant. Next on the list, matte eyeshadow! 50's is generally when most women start dealing with wrinkly eyelids. Shimmery eyeshadows bring attention to the issue where as a matte shadow will "blur" the imperfection. Using matte shades will make the eye look more youthful. Finally, a bright cheek color is essential for looking fab at 50! Losing color and tone to the face is also part of the "maturing" process. The face starts to look colorless and sallow. A bright cheek color will do the trick. This is probably the quickest, easiest way to look younger!

Make Up Bag Must-Haves in your 60's

The overall rule for ladies in their 60's is to keep it SHEER! First of all, your 60's must-have is a very sheer concealer. My recommendation is Touché Éclat by YSL. This a beauty best-seller for a reason. It literally erases age. In the beauty business, we call it "8 hours of sleep in a wand". It's perfect for aging skin because it won't settle in lines and wrinkles. It color corrects and brightens as opposed to covering the skin! In one word, it's brilliant! Next, a hydrating lipstick. This will not only hydrate the lips but it also adds a sheen to the lips and keeps them looking super youthful. Last on the list, a bright shade of cream blush. This will brighten the face and also look more natural because of its creamy texture. Cream blush will create more radiance as well.

Life Trend:

This month's life trend is all about inner beauty. As much fun as it is to play in make up and beautify the outside, it's more important to beautify the inside. I believe inner beauty is the direct result of loving yourself and others with an unconditional love! When we feel good about ourselves, we treat others better. It is through this process of unconditional love that we learn to let our inner light shine.
