Free music events begin Thursday in Charlotte and continue through the weekend.

Thursday

Alive After Five at Pavilion at EpiCentre: Vertigo, a U2 tribute band, will perform at 5PM.

Also, starting at 5PM is the Ayrsley Summer Concert Series, next to the Ayrsley Grand Cinemas.

At 5:30PM you can hear a Dave Matthews Tribute Band play at University Place in a Free Summer Concert Series.

Head down to the U.S. National Whitewater Center at 7PM for the Subaru River Jam.

Friday

Blakeney Summer Concert Series at the Village Green, 7PM (also Saturday)

Summer Pops at Belle Johnston Park in Pineville starting at 8:15

Saturday

Brazilian music with Reinaldo Brahn at Pura Vida, at 1521 Central Avenue, in the Plaza Midwood neighborhood

More music at the U.S. National Whitewater Center, from 6PM to 9PM.

The Catalinas play at the Stowe Park in Belmont at 7PM in Concerts in the Park.

Sunday

Pack a picnic and enjoy Davidson's Concert on the Green featuring Band of Oz, at 6PM.

Believe it or not, there is actually even more free music this weekend. Not to mention free outdoor programs, art showings, kids' craft workshops, and even a parrot birthday party. See the Charlotte on the Cheap calendar for these events and more.
