Six things you can do this weekend for under $36:

The Union County Ensemble is performing the "Wizard of Oz." Students from across the county will star. Performances are Friday and Saturday night at 7:30 p.m. and Sunday at 2:30 p.m. All shows are in Monroe at the Central Academy of Technology and Arts. Tickets range from $10 to $15.

The CIAA Tournament has been in town all week and the celebrations continue this weekend! There's still plenty of time to enjoy the free festivities at the Ford Fan Experience. It's going on at the Charlotte Convention Center in uptown Charlotte.

The 2009 Charlotte Jewish Film Festival kicks off this weekend. The Ballyantne Theater will be showing "Strangers," a modern twist to the classic "Romeo and Juliet." The movie is recommended for those 18 and older. Tickets range from $12 to $18.

If you've had a tough work week, maybe you need a good laugh. If so, go to the Charlotte Comedy Theater for a little interactive improv. See local talent all weekend. Tickets are $10 for each show.

The Charlotte Checkers take on the Mississippi Sea Wolves Sunday at Time Warner Cable Arena. The puck drops at 5 p.m. Tickets range from $10 to $35.

And if you're looking for some relaxation, try the Daniel Stowe Botanical Gardens for Art at the Garden. Tickets are $5 and $10. You can see local artists' work and see a photo exhibit from local high school students.
