CHARLOTTE, N.C. – By the last month of summer, you may feel like you’ve done everything there is to do in town. But there are still fun, free events you can attend.
Wednesday, August 4: Readers' Festival at Cabarrus Arena & Events Center. Lots of kids' activities and giveaways.
Wednesday, August 4 - August 15: (Wednesdays - Sundays) The Charlotte Shakespeare Festival is back, this time with Othello, at Spirit Square. Free, but donations are appreciated.
Wednesday, August 4: Ignite Charlotte at Neighborhood Theatre. Hear a wide variety of speakers talk about their big ideas. Each gets just five minutes and 20 slides.
Saturday, August 7: Panthers Fan Fest at Bank of America Stadium. Festivities start in the morning and culminate with a 1 p.m. Panthers practice.
Saturday, August 7 & Sunday, August 8: Free museum admission for Bank of America customers at Mint Museums, Levine Museum of the New South, and Charlotte Museum of History.
