Friday

Driver Martin Truex Jr. will be signing autographs at Bass Pro shops from 6-8 p.m.

Speed Street, featuring live music and family activities, will take place uptown from  noon to 11 p.m.

The Roustabouts will perform at The Village Green in Blakeney at 7 p.m. as part of the Blakeney Summer Concert Series.

Saturday

Bass Pro Shops offers free family activities and workshop this weekend. Today:
-    11 a.m.: Fish Frying (free samples
-    1 p.m.: Selecting the proper life jacket
-    1 p.m. and 3 p.m.: Make your own compass, and campsite skills

Speed Street resumes Uptown, from  12 p.m. to 11 p.m.

Hodges Family Farm will offer a free open house, with pony rides and hayrides.

Today is CMPD Family Day at Charlotte Museum of History. Visit the museum for free, and see demonstrations by the SWAT team, Canine Unit, and bomb squad. Learn about crime prevention and crime scene techniques.

Matthews Summer Concert and Movies continues tonight with The Stranger, a Billy Joel Tribute Band, at 7 p.m. at Stumptown Park.

Sunday

Bass Pro Shops offers workshops on choosing and marking nature trails, and on the trees around us, at 1 p.m. and 3 p.m.

Enjoy live bands and fireworks at U.S. National Whitewater Center’s Memorial Day River Jam Concert Sunday, May 29th, 2011. Music starts at 3pm and fireworks start at 9 p.m. The only cost is $5 for parking.
