Saturday, families are welcome to a free improv show with Funny Bones at Hampton Inn in Matthews at 8 p.m. If you're closer to Gastonia, there's also family-friendly improv show at Gaston School of the Arts with the Chuckleheads. This one is $5 and benefits the school.
The JCC is the venue for a free screening of the movie, Children of the Sun, which focuses on the unique upbringing of a dozen first-generation Israeli kibbutz children, now elderly, on Sunday at 7:30 p.m.
