No matter where you are in the Charlotte area there are outdoor concerts and movies this summer, and most of them are free. Here are a few. For more information, an updated list and links to all the band and movie schedules, visit Charlotte on the Cheap.

River Jam at U.S. National Whitewater Center
Thursdays, 7 p.m. to 10 p.m. at U.S. National Whitewater Center
Parking is $5

Saturdays on Selwyn
Saturdays through summer

The Shoppes at University Place – Summer Concert Series
Located at the corner of Hwy. 29 & Harris Blvd. (I-85 Exit 45A) Charlotte, NC
Concerts take place on our Lakeside stage every Thursday, June-July 5:30 p.m.-8:30 p.m.

Waste Management 2011 Summer Entertainment Series – Kannapolis

1) Thursdays on Main Concert Series
Veterans Park from May 5 until June 30. The fun starts at 11:30 a.m. and runs through 1:00 p.m.
