CHARLOTTE, N.C. -- Do you know a third through seventh-grader who loves math?  It's not too late to enter the Mathnasium Triathlon coming up this weekend.

Mathnasium is a math-only learning center with locations in Huntersville, Concord, North Charlotte and South Charlotte.  Their goal is to significantly increase a child's math skills and understanding of math concepts, from elementary school all the way up through college calculus!

Together with Healthy Communities, a nonprofit organization committed to youth health and wellness, Mathnasium is sponsoring the First Annual Statewide Mathnasium Triathlon on Saturday, October 2.

Hundreds of competitors from third grade to seventh grade have already signed up, but there is plenty of room left.  All students (public, private, and home school students) are welcome to register through this link.

Competitors will be challenged by three 15-minute competitions in the following areas: Magic Squares, Counting Game, and Mental Math Work Out.

Prizes and medals will be awarded to the top three winners of each grade level, along with an invitation to compete in the Mathnasium Triathlon State Finals on Sunday, October 17 on the UNC-Chapel Hill Campus.

Competitions will be held at both the North Charlotte and South Charlotte locations.
