McTeacher's night events raise funds for Charlotte-area classrooms

CHARLOTTE, N.C. --  Students get to watch their favorite teachers and principals go from the classroom to the dining room to whip up Smoothies, prepare family dinners and man the cash register at McDonald's. 

McTeacher's Night kicks off at McDonald's restaurants Tuesday and runs through October 7.  Each participating McDonald's restaurant will donate a percentage of the sales during McTeacher's Night to its partner school. 

McTeacher's Night, a regional event hosted by McDonald's restaurants across North Carolina, has raised more than $600,000 for local schools in the past nine years.

It's  from 5-8 p.m. at the local McDonald's restaurants listed below.

McDonald's Restaurants in Burke County:
•Oak Hill Elementary, Tuesday, October 4, 2011 from 5-8 p.m. at McDonald's 901 W. Union St.
•Drexel Elementary, Tuesday, October 4, 2011 from 5-8 p.m. at McDonald's 7841 Old NC 10

McDonald's Restaurant in Catawba County:
•South Newton Elementary, Tuesday, October 4, 2011 from 5-8  p.m. at McDonald's 717 Conver Blvd. SW.

McDonald's Restaurant in Cleveland County:
•East Elementary, Tuesday, October 4, 2011 from 5-8  p.m. at McDonald's 725 S. York Rd.

McDonald's Restaurant in Gaston County:
•Bryon Elementary, Tuesday, October 4, 2011 from 5-8  p.m. at McDonald's Hwy 108, Exit 36 at I-26.
