CHARLOTTE, N.C. -- Some parents of Ranson Middle School students in Charlotte were angry that they weren't allowed into Wednesday night's graduation ceremony.

The ceremony was held at West Charlotte High School. Some parents and other family members said they bought tickets but were told at the door that the auditorium had reached capacity before they arrived, and they weren't allowed in.

"I did not get to see my child walk across the stage. He had nobody there to support him," said Najma Smith. "I didn't get to take any pictures. No memories of this special moment."

The principal at Ranson Middle did not comment Wednesday night.
