CHARLOTTE, N.C. -- A dozen Charlotte-Mecklenburg schools received a technology donation Wednesday from Mark Oil Company.
The computers were being used for a business promotion and when it ended the president of the company decided the best use for them was in schools.
"Technology is key in the development and learning of kids today, and I just felt you probably cannot have enough of that kind of tool for them to use," Mark Oil President Bill Tome said.
The laptops were given to middle and elementary schools.
Tome said the company hopes to donate more laptops in the future.
