CHARLOTTE, N.C. -- A male student who is enrolled in the "Right Choices Program" was arrested Tuesday afternoon for having a loaded gun on the campus of West Charlotte High School.
A spokesperson for Charlotte Mecklenburg Schools told NewsChannel 36 that the boy is not a West Charlotte student.
Charlotte-Mecklenburg police said the incident happened at 2:40 p.m., but details and the name and age of the student weren’t immediately available.
No one was injured at the school.
"Right Choices" provides a constructive intervention and early support program for students who have violated the CMS Code of Student Conduct, according to the school district's website.
