GASTON COUNTY, N.C. -- Gaston County Schools opened the school year today welcoming back 32,000 students back.
There are some changes students will notice as they make their way back, too. Gaston County teachers and students will receive some high-tech help this school year.
"When everyone comes back to school today they're going to have a SMART Board in their classroom," Gaston County Schools Superintendent Reeves McGlodon.
SMART Boards are computer interactive whiteboards for the classroom by SMART Technologies.
Gaston County received these SMART Boards after a private donation of $4 million from a local business.
