CHARLOTTE, N.C. – A grieving mother is turning her pain into something positive.
Lynn Alderman partnered with the Samaritan’s Feet and Office Depot to give away shoes and backpacks to local children preparing for back to school.
Seven hundred local kids benefited from Alderman’s efforts, and her giving heart extended far beyond Charlotte. There was also an event held in Davidson, N.C. Alderman organized the event. She does it in memory of her son Joey, who was murdered in 2008.
“It's awesome and how this started Joey loved athletic shoes so when they opportunity can about to team up with many and Samaritan's feet it just seemed like a perfect fit,” said Alderman.
Saturday’s event is a part of a national drive to give away shoes to 40,000 students across the country.
