CHARLOTTE, N.C. – More than a half-dozen consignment sales will take place across Charlotte over the next two weeks.

Chrissy Freeman of consignmentmommies.com shared several useful tips Thursday morning on Charlotte Today.

Freeman suggests starting with a list of what you will need so you can go in to the sale and not feel overwhelmed.  A plan of attack is vital, she says.

“It’s important that you take inventory before you go to know what you have in your closet,” Freeman said.  “You want to know ahead of time what sizes, what clothing items you are looking for.”

Freeman also advises using a smartphone so you can look up items to see whether or not they are good deals.  She suggests using the Amazon app on your smartphone to look at the retail price of items.

Another useful tip? Bring a big bag or even a hamper to the sale so lugging around all the items you find is less of a hassle.  And keep the kids at home, Freeman said, so there are fewer distractions.

Freeman also advises tracing your son or daughter’s shoe so you know the size you are looking for.  Also, many sales allow potential shoppers to volunteer during the weekend event, and many of those events allow volunteers to go in and shop early before the general public.
