MOUNT HOLLY, N.C. -- Students at Mountain Island Charter School are learning more than what's in the books. They're learning about character, too.
One way they're doing that is by filling buckets with kind thoughts.
They got the idea from a book. Each student in the classroom has a bucket, and if someone has something nice to say they write it down and drop it in another student's bucket.
When someone does a good need, they add a button to the necklace, and those doing positive things get to wear it.
What the students at Mountain Island Charter School are doing falls in line with Rachel's Challenge, spreading acts of kindness throughout schools and communities.
