CHARLOTTE, N.C. -- It was just last week that students at Charlotte Country Day first heard the message of Rachel’s Challenge.
During two assemblies at the school last Tuesday students learned about Rachel Scott, one of the victims of the Columbine Shooting.
They learned about how she dreamed of sparking a chain reaction of kindness around the world. It wasn’t long after hearing her story that some students decided to make a positive change in their school.
By Friday, the first ever “Friends of Rachel” or “FOR” Club called to order its first meeting.
Among the first items on the agenda: figuring out who will lead the group and how the FOR Club can encourage positive changes within the school all year long.
NBC Charlotte will continue to track the progress of the FOR Club at Charlotte Country Day all year long.
