CHARLOTTE, N.C. -- Several students at Reedy Creek Elementary are giving back to their own peers.

The students from the Broomers Club created a book pantry to help donate books to kids that are less fortunate in the area.

"At the end of the year, we're just collecting them for now, but at the end of the year we're gonna give like 10 books to each student that doesn't have access to a library so they can still read," Broomers Club member Josias Gomez said.

This is part of a chain reaction from Rachel's Challenge and students at Reedy Creek are really embracing the idea.

"If you have books and you like them, keep reading them and if you want to pass them on to another person then you can do that because that would be a good thing," student Stephen Norman said.
