New way to lay away

CHARLOTTE, N.C. -- The countdown is on for Christmas -- the big day will soon be here! And if wish lists are falling into your lap with big ticket items that are slightly out of the budget, you might be checking that list once... twice and freaking out when you add it up.

But if you think you are out of options for spending money, there are some clever folks trying to come up with new ways for you to spend.

Like good old layaway, for example. It's back, re-invented and easier than before. It's a click away. We found a web site that will pay up for you, but for a fee. It's called e-layway.com.

You register on the site and then start shopping and lay away your purchase. So what does it cost? Well, if you lay away something that costs $100, you split that up into monthly payments of $10.20. Ultimately, you'll pay $102.

We also checked out this company's record with the Better Business Bureau and found, so far, no complaints!
