NEW YORK CITY -- NBC star Al Roker has gotten up before dawn for years to prepare the nation for the day’s weather, but for the first time ever, he overslept Tuesday.
Roker missed his morning show, which is actually called “Wake Up With Al.”
He sent out this Tweet afterwards: “After 39 years, it happened. I overslept and missed a show. Missed #wuwa – Here on time for Today."
He may have made it on time for NBC’s Today Show, but that didn’t help him avoid the brunt of his co-workers jokes. He took it all in stride, though.
Roker also asked his Twitter followers to share their own horror stories of oversleeping and had fun sharing those comments on TV.
In the end, Roker laughed it all off – and even jokingly recommended that the name of his morning show should get changed to: “Al Wake Up!”
