COLUMBIA, S.C. -- A rapper from Lexington, North Carolina, who specializes in Christian rhymes cleaned up big-time at the 2014  Prayze Factor People's Choice Awards this month. 

Brian "Capa" Young took top honors at the awards show, which focuses on musicians in the Gospel and Christian genres.

Capa is the first "holy hip-hop" artist the win the Overall People's Choice Award. The North Carolina rapper beat out full gospel choirs and international Christian artists.  

Capa is an independent artist who has several chart-topping hits in his genre. He also wrote a song for Erica Parsons, the teen missing from his hometown of Salisbury.
