CHARLOTTE, N.C. – ‘The Hunger Games’ was one of the biggest box office hits ever, and much of it was shot in Charlotte, Concord and Shelby, bringing in $60 million for the state economy.

But it looks like the second time is not the charm.

Sources told NewsChannel 36 the sets that were left in the area may be moved elsewhere to shoot the sequel, ‘Catching Fire.’

Many of the portions of the movie that were filmed in North Carolina could shift to Georgia for the sequel.  Neither the Georgia nor the North Carolina Film Commissions would comment.

‘The Hunger Games’ has hauled in about $600 million at the box office and was the top rated movie for four straight weekends, raking in more that $350 million domestically.
