JERUSALEM (AP) -- Gene Simmons has returned to Israel for the first time since leaving as a child 50 years ago. Simmons made the trip as part of his reality show, "Gene Simmons Family Jewels." Simmons, then known as Chaim Witz, spent his childhood in northern Israel before moving to America. He says his family was "dirt poor" and he'd earn money by selling fruit he collected from cacti. Simmons says he never came back to Israel before because of his busy schedule.
