'SNL' imagines how that problematic Kendall Jenner Pepsi ad happened

How does something so controversial -- like Pepsi's now-pulled ad featuring Kendall Jenner -- even get off the drawing board? Saturday Night Liveimagined the answer to this question in this week's episode.

The skit featured Beck Bennett as the ad’s excited creator who realizes the problem after it's too late.

“It’s an homage to the resistance,” he said while explaining the ad’s concept. “Isn’t that like, the best ad ever?”

Short answer: No. Absolutely not.

Bennett’s character continues to ask people’s opinion of the ad and becomes increasingly worried as he receives disapproving feedback -- but oops! Too late now, because Jenner (played by Cecily Strong) is already on set.

The original ad, which features Jenner calming a protest by giving a police officer a Pepsi, was pulled after it sparked backlash for trivializing the movement against police brutality.

The slogan used at the end of the skit says it all: “Live and learn.”
