It’s the traditional midsummer day in Tokyo -- that means it's time to eat eel.

Grilled eel is a delicacy in Japan, and eating it is thought to be a good way to beat the heat.

A shop in downtown Tokyo has stocked three to four times the usual amount of eel to prepare for the crowds.

But there's a problem. The catch of Japanese eel is plummeting, and prices have almost tripled since 2011.
