SPOKANE, Wash.--The damage was minimal in a car crash in early January but the shock value was not. A woman was stopped at a red light at Crestline and Empire when a car came out of nowhere bumping into her tire.

The woman said she saw no one inside the car at first.

“I was driving straight, headed west, in hopes of just going home,” said Tabitha Ormaechea.

Ormaechea had worked all day and all she wanted to do was get some rest. Her plans got a little hairy at the red light.

“Out of nowhere I had looked at all the lights, no cars, I reached down to get some chapstick, and that's when I got hit,” said Ormaechea.

Ormaechea said she stood up as soon as she was bumped.

“When I looked up, there was no one in the car, just a little dog up on the steering wheel peeking over looking at me,” said Ormaechea.

“I was shocked, I didn't know if I was crazy, or if this little dog had taken a joy ride,” said Ormaechea.

That is exactly what happened.

“I didn't know what to think. Someone just ran into the store and asked if anyone has a gold car and I said, yeah, me why,” said dog owner Jason Martinez.

Martinez said he had been in the store for just minutes when his dog Toby caused a scene.

“He must have knocked it out of gear and the car rolled out,” said Martinez.

No one was hurt and the damage was minimal. Martinez said Toby’s license has been revoked.
