Turkey Chili

2 lbs ground turkey

1 lb diced turkey breast

½ lb hot turkey sausage

1 large small diced onion

2 Cloves Garlic - Minced

2 cans petite (small) diced tomatoes

¼ lb diced banana peppers and jalapeno peppers

4 oz tomato paste

32 oz chicken broth

1 beer

3 Tbls Chili Powder

1 tsp Cumin

2 tsp Sea Salt

1 tsp Crushed Red Pepper

More Salt & Pepper to taste

It is 100% for charity – this year the money will be split between Alzheimer’s Association, Ronald McDonald House, Avon Walk For Breast Cancer and Taste of the NFL to benefit Second Harvest Food Bank of Metrolina

 

There are 31chili entries, bounce houses & pumpkin painting for the kids that they will take home with them sponsored by Wine & Design, a cornhole tournament, celebrity judges, Sir Purr, Chubby Checker, Homer the Dragon and Blaze (the Fire Dept. mascot), and live music from Ollie Take Cover.

 

Admission is $10 for adults and kids are free.  There will be drink tickets available to purchase for local breweries – Triple C, Lenny Boy, Sycamore, OMB, Wooden Robot and Red Clay Ciderworks as well as the best wine you will find at ANY chili cook-off!  Robert Foley Vineyards, Chalk Hill Winery, Gainey Vineyards
